Your support of the DEAF CULTURE CENTRE will help us to continue to bring understanding special exhibits, traveling exhibits, classes, productions, workshops, festivals and on-line collections for all to enjoy.
Fundraising is a key element in keeping the centre strong. It is our philosophy not to charge visitors to enter exhibits as we wish to be accessible and educational for all!
With a donation of $100 or more, you will automatically become a member of the DEAF CULTURE CENTRE. As a member you will continue to enjoy such advantages as exhibit previews, preferred access to various workshops and classes, newsletter subscription, library privileges, discounts at our SIGNature giftshop and weekday and weekend discounts at restaurants in the Distillery District. You will also have access to the Canadian Deaf historical archives on our new website.
To enlighten, inspire, awe, educate, and ultimately, to celebrate Deaf Culture - this is our responsibility and the essence of our work. We thank you greatly for your continuous support of the DEAF CULTURE CENTRE. Your support makes everything we do possible!
Every dollar raised helps make a big difference:
- $2000 sends one youth to the Canada Deaf Youth Camp for leadership training
- $500 in the Adopt-a-Sign campaign will allow the new ASL Animated Dictionary for children to grow into a free comprehensive on-line children's dictionary. Each $500 raised creates one new sign in the dictionary.
- $225 sends a class of 30 to the DEAF CULTURE CENTRE for a school tour.
- $65.00 will purchase the required training materials for the ASL Parent-Child Mother Goose Program.
