Tony L. McGregor

Tony Landon McGregor is a nationally renowned Texas Native Deaf Artist. He attended Gallaudet University and later earned his B.A., B.F.A. and M.Ed. at UT Austin. He received his Ph.D. in multicultural special education, focusing on art education.
Dr. McGregor who is Caddo, helped establish the National Association of the Native American Deaf (now called Intertribal Deaf Council) in Oklahoma City. He was resident artist-in-education at the Austin Museum of Art in Austin, Texas and is known for his Southwestern theme paintings and wood-burned gourds. His unique style explores and reflects Deaf culture and Native culture and his art is known for its southwestern De’VIA art elements.
